Can't get Visual Studio 2013's basic console to appear.

Posted 27 October 2015 - 07:42 PM

I'm trying to run a very basic program and I can't get my console to appear.
I know it's not my code. It's something to do with my environment
This is on my computer for work.

I thought this would be a common issue so I googled "Visual Studio console won't appear".
It's not that it appears and then disappears. I have scratched the surface of C++ before and I've dealt with that issue. You can see in my code that I purposely made the program stop. Even in that screenshot you can tell it's till running because the "Run" button is grayed out. and the red square "stop" button is visibly red(not stopped...as in, running)
Why can't I see this basic console?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Have you tried alt-tab to switch between applications? Maybe it's running but you just don't see it.

Does it show if you Ctrl+F5?
