Problem with uninstalling a software!

Posted 17 December 2015 - 12:37 PM

Hi there,

I need to install a software on my laptop, but when I wanna do that, I receive an error saying that: "Error 1316. The specified account already exist". I figured out that I had already installed a former version of this software on my laptop about 2 years ago, which I don't know why, but currently doesn't work at all! So I went through "add or remove programs", but when I wanted to reinstall the software I encountered another error stating that: "The path C:\Users ... cannot be found ..." (please see the attached pictures below to see the complete error)! I searched my whole computer to find that software in somewhere, but it seems that I've already deleted the setup file and that's the reason I cannot uninstall this software at the moment.
As it was for about 2 years ago, I can't make a restore. Also, the previous version doesn't work and in order to install the newer version, I first need to remove the former one. The previous version is also not available for download,

I really don't know what to do ... Could anybody help me with that please?!

Thanks

Have you tried alternative uninstaller apps?

Example:

I just tried the "Revo Uninstaller" and it worked. :bananaman: Thank you very much for your assistance :)

Registry entries can sometimes become corrupted during install/uninstall processes. Run the "Microsoft Fix It" tool first:

https://support.micr...nd_uninstall/en

If that doesn't work, perhaps you need to manually clean house. Microsoft publishes a simple guide on how to manually remove programs and registry entries:

https://support.micr...en-us/kb/247501

But make sure you back up your registry first:
