Some Recent Images

Posted 17 June 2002 - 10:59 AM

Here are some images I've done recently that have gotten some positive feedback. Tell me what you think and if you have any questions about how I did something - ask away. I might upload the PSD's if I'm feeling happy. :)

3d Studio MAX 4.2 and Photoshop 5.5

I basically started off with some weird render and then added stuff in photoshop.

this isn't geared towards you illustrain, but just in general. I used to be in awe at graphics like this. However, when i found out how completely random and easy it was to make those "weird 3d renders", it just didn't impress me anymore. It's as easy as render > clouds in photoshop. I went through my own little part of the randomness myself. Whenver i decide to get back into graphics, i will be trying my best to avoid anything like this to personally challenge myself from this, just like how i basically stopped using filters in photoshop.

Albeit, you did take some time to make them look better in photoshop first, and that part is quite good.

Well riceraver, maybe you should change the splash page to your website? It's a chrome texture placed on some spikes.. surley you want somthing more 'complex'

illustrain, good job on the redners/photoshop work.

Thats cool. To tell you the truth, I hardly use any filters except maybe some blurs.
They way I did most of them was finding different 'levels' of the render (highlights, midtones, and shadows) and then adding colors, textures, and moving things around untill I have pieced together something that is decent. Then I'll add the things like the random arrows and +'s and text.
Rice, do you have any recent work with your 'new style'... I'd like to see what it is :)

i never said anything about being 'complex'. Plus, if you've noticed, i haven't touched that site in a very very long time.
