HTML and CSS: Visual QuickStart Guide Elizabeth Castro
HTML & CSS: Design and Build Web Sites Jon Duckett

- both are excellent first books. The second takes a visual approach and is a very elegant book to own.

CSS: The Missing Manual D S McFarland

- an essential book and reference.

I just ordered the book by Jon Duckett. I'll write a review on it after I read it for anybody else who wants more information on it.

This book will clear and help you understand HTML and CSS from very basic
HTML & CSS: The Complete Reference, Fifth Edition: Herbert Schildt

and The best online resource to try and learn HTML and CSS is W3school

I would suggest to practise and create as much project you can,by doing that you will learn HTML and CSS in a better manner :batman:/> .

Well, I studied both HTML and CSS through w3schools.com , very complete and includes nice and practical examples.

w3schools should not be anyone's sole resource. It is not the official resource (w3c) and many articles in the past have been noted to be inaccurate, incorrect or out-of-date. Cross-reference to other material, w3.org, MDN.
