Adding more GPU horse power to a laptop?

Posted 29 July 2016 - 04:12 AM

Is there any tricks to adding more horse power to a laptop's video system?

Like, a USB GPU that adds more graphics capability?

Similar to how you can use a USB thumb drive as windows swap space to add more "RAM" to a laptop that is maxed out. (This will kill the usb stick in a short amount of time, but hey at $5 for a 4gig stick, why not?)

Thanks!

I found this:
Mini PCIe video card

It can add a whole 16mb!

But really, I would think that there is a way to add more GPU's and then link them using OpenGUI or Cuda.

Depends heavily on the laptop.. a whole mess of them are looking at using the Thunderbolt 3 port.. conversely if your laptop has an independent card internal you can see if there is an upgrade that fits and is recommended by the manufacturer.

A solid read:
