Hi, i'am looking for the source code for the game of life, if anybody has a copy that they could send i would really appreciate it.

You should try the following link which has the full source code to an implementation of John Conway's Game of Life in C# 3.0 framework. It will provide a nice starting point for you.

thanks, I'm using vista so have the .NET framework, but when I try to open with visual studio express it says that this project type is not supported with this installation. Is it being an express version that is the problem?

I am not quite sure, but it sounds like all you need to do is install some extensions or may have inadequate extensions. Here is a thread that might prove useful.
