It also seems to be missing some of the icons as well (intermittently) along with the other problems mentioned.

Re: Hanging up in Firefox

15oct2016 - Just an observation.
I left Firefox open to C# forum question, then ran to town to do errands.
When I came back a couple hours later the page was fully loaded and actually responding really well. I'm not saying it took a couple hours to load - I was gone: It could have been 10 minutes for all I know.

I can now navigate where-ever, open other pages in new tabs etc. and they behave.
So maybe some sort of cache versus time-out issue??? Takes forever to get something or another it wants?? Eventually gets everything or stops trying???

But at this point I'm not going to take the page down or close Firefox. It can stay up on my third monitor indefinitely for all I care. I can put Outlook or iTunes on top if it, minimize it to the task bar... whatever... so what difference does it make?

So as a band-aid or a test for others; try opening DIC in Firefox then just walk away and let it load. Then don't close it.

For a while, I've been getting pages like this:
https://www.dropbox....6%3A19.png?dl=0
(The 'insert image' only shows text 'Posted Image'.)

Usually a couple of refreshes bring it to normal.

I'm using Firefox 49.0 on Linux Mint 17.3 (64-bit).

Re: Hanging up in Firefox

As a quick aside, it has become more and more painful to try to reply to posts while using Chrome on an Android device. There seems to be something about posts that have medium to large sized code blocks that is eating CPU and battery resources. I am by no means a fast typer on a touchscreen, but I can be a good 10 to 15 words ahead of the screen display if I am replying to a post with code blocks. On posts without code blocks, the screen is always up to date.

At first I thought that it was just because Chrome had been updated on my phone a few weeks ago. I had the opportunity to reset to the factory version of Chrome that is over 2 years old and I still saw the same behavior. So it looks like something has changed on the site widgets which handles the code blocks.

Re: Hanging up in Firefox

I think I found the reason for the Firefox issues.

The "cdn.dreamincode.net" requests seem to include an Alt-Svc: h2=":443"; ma=60 header, indicating an alternate HTTPS enabled service that should be used. Firefox respects this without question and tries to load the rest of the stuff from the "cdn.dreamincode.net:443", as is indicated by the Alt-Used header it sends for those requests. The other browsers seem to either not listen to the header at all, or at least revert when it fails to load.

So it looks like the CDN server is misconfigured to try and redirect browsers to an HTTPS alternative of itself.

In Firefox, you can "fix" this in your config (about:config) by disabling the network.http.altsvc.enabled preference.
