My student enterprise website

Posted 19 September 2016 - 11:57 AM

Hello

This:
http://skiphix.com
is my student enterprise website.

We do mainly websites, software, and security.
I'd like to know if the design and responsiveness of this website is okay?

It's just the very first version of our website; and we'd like to know what can be changed better,
we already know the English is bad, thats because I made it alone and my English ain't that good.
However, someone in my team with better English skills will fix that soon.

But when we're talking about design.. Is it a bit okay?
Would you order a small cheap website there if you were interested?

Thanks!

Not a fan at all. First off - the background images.. that you licensed, right??.. are a mega and a half big. That's ridiculous and slows the load of your site.

Next - the fade in text really annoys me and prevents me from scanning the information at my speed.

The globe, lock, calculator are sad icons and need something more professional.

The random gradients logo out of place.

The popup thing in the top right.. equally annoying.

Your order form is off center and has huge white space gaps in it.

The menu doesn't indicate where I am after clicking a link.

The logo in the top left doesn't take me back to the main page.

So.. did you purchase the 'web evolution' CMS?

Your 'get your service now' buttons are huge on a regular monitor.

No.

Firstly, thanks a lot for your feedback!

Not a fan at all. First off - the background images.. that you licensed, right??.. are a mega and a half big. That's ridiculous and slows the load of your site.

The images were searched with Google with 'advanced search' to avoid license problems.
I made the images such big, because I saw some other (really professional websites) having
a kind of dia-presentation on their index, taking in mainly the whole screen. But maybe I need to small it down?

Next - the fade in text really annoys me and prevents me from scanning the information at my speed.

I'll try to change the effect of these. Thanks.

You're right. I'm not good in Graphics or design, I'll ask another team-mate to make more professional ones.

The random gradients logo out of place.

I don't understand this one?

The popup thing in the top right.. equally annoying.

Okay, we will completely remove this or set a really high timer.

Your order form is off center and has huge white space gaps in it.

Will be looking into this.

Maybe making the font-colour of the page you're at white?

The logo in the top left doesn't take me back to the main page.

This indeed may seem confusing. Normally only the home button is functional,
but it ain't a bad idea to do it at the logo as well.

No, I made it myself. It's the first version of my Web-framework (and only a small part),
I'm also using this CMS as end-work at school.

Your 'get your service now' buttons are huge on a regular monitor.

Maybe better to set them aside of each other?

Thanks!

Well... its ok'ish

It's a bit juvenile and you tell some pretty tall tales in there

better to be honest than telling big fibs about you and your team.

some icons royalty free ones.

Hi

This is the new version of this thread:
http://www.dreaminco...rprise-website/

I changed a lot on the new version of my website:
http://skiphix.com
(You might want to clear your cache first).

I used your commentary to make the website better, I hope.
So, does this one look better?

Here a scope of the old website:
http://imgur.com/a/XsjHy

I've included a lot less fade-effects, replaced white with darker kind of white and grey, restyled buttons etc.,...
What do you think?

Thanks!

You put your services at the bottom of your page "Get your service now!" section. Don't you want to earn money ^^?

The mobil menu is always expanded, which is taking up a lot of space.
"About us" section has too large margins for mobile screens.
Waiting for the fate in effect is annoying. It is fading in too slow.

You need to save your slider images for web. Compress their size, they are a wobbing 1.2 - 1.4 MB in size.

Thanks!
I added a service-page on the index, margins are made bigger for mobile, fade-effect is made faster, and images are compressed. And I noted the mobile-menu thing and will fix that for sure!
