Network Design - Advice needed

Posted 22 October 2016 - 07:54 AM

Hi there, I have created a rough first draft of a enterprise network design, I would just like a few comments/advice if possible. The diagram basically entails 3 floors; Ground floor, first floor and second floor. All floors have different rooms which have their own switches, then are connected to other floors via a single router, it also has a single wifi access port for things such as laptops etc to connect to, the router is then connected to a FDDI backbone which then connects to a server which all floors can then access.

If you guys have any idea's on improvements, any errors that you can see.. or anything in-between, i'd appreciate it!

this is only a draft so there is no technical implementations yet such as ip addresses etc.

You seem to have two Conference Rooms numbered 1. There is a Network forum you could access from the front page.

sorry that's just a typo, it should say "conference room 1" and "conference room 2", is there any other comments/recommendations you could suggest?

Good work. I think you have already correct everything. What is the result now?

That is an awful amount of devices for a single router. I would suggesting multiple routers off of your switches, or you could have maintenance install wall jacks for data, voice and poe, then route those with a switch. A switch with 48 ports looks enough for this design. Also look into setting up a working relationship with a company that sells modems (lan and wlan) at wholesale and have one in each office for every device in the office.
I hope this helps.
