c# code not being recognized by Xamarin studio

Posted 10 January 2017 - 12:08 PM

If I copy and paste this into Visual Studios it compiles just fine. Apparently I am supposed to go to the file and set the Build Action to "interface". But when I do that I get this error:

"interface builder can't determine the type of "ViewController.cs". This may be due to a missing SDK."

I have the latest updates so the SDK is not the issue.

The Xamarin studio compiler doesn't like the ">". Not sure how to correct this.

favPickerViewModel model = new favPickerViewModel(this.favesModel);
            model.FaveSelected += (sender, e) =>
            {
                //do stuff when item is picked..
                //string text = model.SelectedFave;
                //foreach (KeyValuePair<int, string> kvp in this.favoritesDict)
                //{
                //    if (text == kvp.Value)
                //    {
                //        this.iColumnSelector = kvp.Key;
                //    }
                //}

            };
