You could always use the On Screen Keyboard

Quote

Go to Start , then select Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard, and then move the slider under On-Screen Keyboard. A keyboard appears on the screen that can be used to move around the screen and enter text. The keyboard will remain on the screen until you close it.

Replacing a keyboard on a laptop isn't difficult, but take your time & be sure of what you are doing.

i can lose from screws sizes. that's my big problem. i don't have experience on open laptops.
i'm trying use the SharpKeys program. it's working, but i need to learn how use a condition(only when numlock is disabled)

for games\text the screen keyboard isn't the best, when we need the arrow keys

Sorry, I should have just said : "I don't know how to remap keys on Windows, & that's not the approach that I would use".

I do wish you luck. Sorry I don't have the answer that you are looking for. Maybe someone else here will chime in.

Sharpkey, keytweak, or MS's key mapper. If one of those doesn't have it then you may check your laptop brand's site to see if they have a keyboard layout app or tool. Barring that - get a new keyboard.

As I said - if one of those three do not help (and I would figure check all three) go to your laptop manufacturer's site and see if they have an archived tool. Barring that then you would need to get a new keyboard to install, use a usb keyboard, or live without the key. At that point what you are asking for nonstandard OS-level keybinding doesn't exist.

the problem, when i use the Sharpkey, is if the numlock is on\off, the key is always actived(the number 5).

As I mentioned - if that one app is not working then try the other two, and definitely go to your laptop manufacturer's site to see if they have a specific tool to use. Barring that odd OS level key binding may not work for you so a new keyboard would resolve it or learn to operate with a broken keyboard.

The easiest way is only replace it with the new one. I got my Asusreplaced last week and its pretty easy to do. You just need to find the replacement and replace it by yourself.
