Zombie - Free Browser Game

Posted 15 March 2017 - 07:59 PM

I've been working on this off and on for a little bit now and thought I should put it up for a round of feedback here. Looking for suggestions to make the gameplay more fun/addictive.

Zombie is a free top-down Zombie survival shooter. You can earn cash for killing zombies. Use that cash to buy weapons and traps such as, land-mines, machine guns, rocket launchers, etc. Walk around the town and try and stay alive, see how many waves of zombies you can survive. Using your pistol as well as other weapons and traps, you can kill zombies. Once you have shot a Zombie you'll have to go retrieve the cash left behind. Watch out for traffic on the roads. Speeding cars will kill you, but you can also use them to run over Zombies. The best Zombie game of all time.

It works on PC but not mobile, I may add touch screen functionality later though.

Use the arrow keys to move your character around and the space-bar to shoot. The A, S, and D keys can be used to drop weapons and traps.

The assets are from Kenney. http://kenney.nl/ass...topdown-shooter

I like it, it's a pretty decent game but the keys are extremely sensitive, it's quite hard to dodge around the zombies without getting hit.

I enjoyed playing it, and despite it having some flaws I found it to be kind of addictive.

The things that I found kind of annoying (but not absolute deal breakers, and they don't take anything away from the fun):

- I also found the controls to be really sensitive, which wasn't necessarily a problem for me, but it did take some adjusting to be able to aim and shoot the zombies accurately.

- The zombies can come through this white see-through walls in the house. Which again isn't a deal breaker for how much fun I have, it was just a little bit confusing when zombies came through the wall (into I noticed what was going on). And it was kind of frustrating to not be able to walk through those walls myself, but that frustration didn't last long because I got distracted by shooting zombies.

Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to seeing the direction this project heads in! :D

Hi Anthony and Spigie, thanks for the feedback! Sorry for the late reply, but I didn't realize anyone commented. I updated the user controls on Zombie to make it a bit easier to aim. Let me know if that's any better.

I am also experimenting with a completely new aiming system. I tried it on a new game called Space 2. http://darkwalllke.com/game/space-2/ It uses the mouse to help aim. I'm keen to get some feedback on that style vs the style used in Zombie.

Cheers,
