Poor user experience with posted code on Ubuntu

Posted 02 June 2017 - 07:10 AM

Hello,

With either Firefox(53.0.3 (64-bit)) or Chromium(Version 58.0.3029.110(64-bit)) on Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS, code posted in

tags gets rendered in rather boring <pre></pre> HTML only. There is no syntax highlighting, nor a handy little popup in the top-right corner to allow say 'copy to clipboard'.

Spoofing user agent strings with User Agent Switcher didn't help either.

With the same version of Firefox on Window 8.1, the fully usable code block is present. Code is syntax highlighted and the popup to copy code, view in new window etc all works as expected.

This seems to have stopped working on Linux in the past week or so.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

It's not the OS. I'm running that same version without trouble.

Sounds like something is blocking the Javascript files from being loaded correctly. Maybe check out the Network tab of the dev tools and see if it gives you any hints.
