[Survey]Which language/technology would you recommend for specific use

Posted 12 June 2017 - 03:05 PM

I need help from programming comunity to improve quality of my website (jaki-jezyk-programowania.pl(polish)) for beggining programmers.

I prepared a survey, which would help a lot with designing mindmap of choosing language for specifc use.

Survey

I'm counting on you! Without you my project will be dead as many others.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I'll ask the perennial question, are you going to share the results, or just spam the survey and disappear?

Just as a side note, why is it that javascript is the language that people always choose when they want an illustration of codey stuff?

Interesting. From a UI perspective, it is not in any way obvious that those arrows have any effect, or that this would be the effect. I would suggest something a little more intuitive, for example a selector of some sort.

They are highlighted, hoverable, focusable and there is a comment in polish at the top of a every example to point that. Isn't it enough?

Where?

Let start be any number greater than 1. Let end be max_int-1. What do you get when you add start and end to compute mid?

<sarcasm>
Because C# and Pascal would be too readable, C++, Java and VB.NET too verbose, and LISP, FORTRAN, and BASIC look too scary.

Let the flame wars begin! :)

I don't really get it. Are you talking about big numbers? :o That we can't compute addition of max_int + 1? I don't really see the point. It's just easy example to show how syntax looks like.

I'm talking about the code not dealing with integer overflow.

Based on your first reaction of "Where?", It seemed that you were really concerned about the quality of your content, but with your latest post, you are dismissing the issue as you only care about syntax correctness, but not logical correctness.
