Compiling for Windows XP 64bit Compatibility?

Posted 16 June 2017 - 01:47 PM

what's up my ninjas,
I'm trying to code a quick program here for guitar/piano scales and I am compiling on a computer that is running win10 with .NET 4.6 (VS community 2015).. I'm wondering, does anyone know how I can compile so that my program will run in XP 64bit? I think 64Bit XP will run .NET 4.0

thanks! :surrender:

Go to the project properties and change the target framework. Depending on how "fresh" your Windows install is (e.g. was it upgraded from Win7 up to Win10, or was it a clean Win10 install) you may need to install older versions of the framework that you are targeting.

Interesting, so it's really just based on the version of the .NET framework? Ty I'll give this a shot. I'm upgrading to 7 soon but this is so I can compile programs to run on my home computer. Appreciate the help.

It is a matter of figuring out what framework is supported on the target OS.
