Wordpress mixed into a http site and general seo Problems

Posted 11 August 2017 - 11:06 AM

Guys im pretty familiar with seo on standard html pages , but in wordpress im strugling to go through all the php files to find out where all the edits need to be made , it also is load heavy , as well as wordpress being https its conflicting with my http , as i understand its bad to mix the two as you lose the security of https. I know there are plugins but im not a fan of those things because they tend to compound more issues.

Any advice or reading material ?

Thanks

IF you are going wordpress then embrace the plugins.

"wordpress seo plugins"

Example:

Sure.. plugins are a fairly important part of the wordpress process. Just like 'themes' are. _NOT_ using them is just hobbling yourself.

Plenty of folk use wordpress. Heck some companies use it as their front end.

Well along with that link up top there if you have a decent understanding of how to analyse speed issues and what makes on page seo better , you can apply it like you would on a static html , you need a bit of php knowledge and also patience to go and track and edit the things you need to.

What was said to me in the beginning of this thread is probably the best advice , embrace plugins , but use them wisely if you can create a function or slider rather do that and migrate it into the theme , its a bit more work but it bypasses the issues.

PS the biggest piece of advice i can give is like that link says keep everything updated plugins regularly update with aster more efficient versions. I expect WordPress usage will grow even more in the future ( with reference to front end sites using WordPress i have now started seeing more and more of them) and this will prompt even faster development for things along the lines of speed and seo. Also look at structure like a simple example of where you h1 tags are , sometimes themes are badly structure in regards to this.
