How much knowledge is enough to begin?

Posted 12 August 2017 - 03:04 PM

Hello,

I am taking my first class in Computer Science this fall semester. According to the syllabus the focus of the class is programming using Java. I will be taking another CompSci class the following semester that is also programming based, but I'm not sure in which language. I would really like to start creating an app for Android as a fun personal project next summer, but I was wondering if I will have enough knowledge to get started after only two semesters. Of course I'm not expecting to make anything too complicated, but it would be nice to work on something fun.

Thank you.

Find some working code in an online blog that is not too complicated, download, compile, load and test it. Then make some mods and do it again. Push the limits here and there to see what happens.
