Image Sharing

Posted 24 September 2017 - 04:21 AM

Over the past week, I didn't have any projects going on so I starting building an image sharing site to keep my skills up. Visually, it is less than impressive, but this was more for the back-end.

https://imgshare.000webhostapp.com

I already know that it is kind of slow and this is because it is on free hosting.

Here is a few images already uploaded as an example:

Let me know what you think!

Well it really lacks a cohesive front page. Unless I am missing it. Simply putting a login/signup and that is isn't encouraging to actually get started. You might have not gotten to that part yet but build out a front page that talks about the product and talks about some advantages it has if you care to have adoption.

Other than that, it is a pretty good start. Really simple and the performance was ok for me. :)

Nice start, one thing - on the my files section you're using the full size image as an icon.

Adding code to re-size that server side when uploaded isn't that tricky + a good back-end exercise that will help with the speed a lot!
