Help: College Final Project

Posted 26 October 2017 - 02:17 AM

Dear all,

I'm writing you because I need your advices in completing a college final Project.
I explain the situation first: I was studying the computer programming course around 9 years ago. Then it happened that I got pregnant, so I stopped. Now I would like to finish the project, but I'm not up-to-date about programming. I have a little experience of Visual basic and some html. For this reason, I wanted to ask you which one of the following topic/area are of easy development, that requires less effort but it embraces what the project requires. They asked me to develop an application, following the areas:

- Classic Program Project
- Database development Project
- Database +front end
- Client server applications
- Customizations of packages
- System-Management Appliactions
- Web-based solutions

Links to tutorials, e-guides or e-books and everything that you can suggest me are very welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I have to say it - you're hosed.
You have a little Visual Basic (which nobody uses anymore) and a little HTML - basically you know what a 15 year old knew 20 years ago.

And this is for a college final project? What did you study?

This is why nobody in the working world actually gives a hoot about college educated developers.

Yes,

but not all college students are this poor....

some are really smart......

some aren't ..

I was speaking to someone who recently graduated and had no idea on how to make a GUI just console... that to me is just laziness and his console skills will no doubt not be in high demand by developers who have to deliver high quality product within budget and on time.

I just needed some advices not discouragements.
the course is Computer programming.
if you are of any help, please do.

With the project I should demonstrate a wide range of abilities:

technical understanding
ability to design and implement projects
time management
independent working

the project structure is going to be as follows:

selection
design /implementation
testing
documentation
presentation

And it must be developed with the following programming languages:

Database MS Access, ORACLE, etc.
Programming Languages: VB, C, assembler, java...
Web-based technologies (asp, jsp, javascript, php...)
System Admin (unix shell scripts, ...)
Specialist languages: prolog, lisp, etc.
Package-based environments (matlab, Autocad/autolisp, etc).

this is all that has been said.

If you want 'encouragement' go to your priest or parents.
I thought you came here for some peer advice and feedback.

I don't know how much advice someone can give you. You say you're supposed to write a program, but you don't have the skills for that. You even KNOW you don't because you said for "easy development, that requires less effort "

You might as well be asking "I have no kitchen skills. I can kinda boil an egg. My culinary final project is to make beef wellington, followed up with a baked Alaska for desert. Can you give me advice on how I can do that easily and requires little effort?"

Honestly... What were you expecting us to say? "Click these 3 buttons and the computer will build it for you" ?

Just like there are term paper mills on the Internet, there also sites which are programming project mills. This site is not one of them.

Consider closely what your school's student code of conduct dictates before you enlist the help of those sites.

She can still make something out with VB no bad. Even a chess engine is possible with BASIC language which can defeat a club player and some other good engines, nothing is impossible. You can try creating engines of good strength and show that languages of beginner can also compete with the danger ones like c++ :D But that's true VB is of no use and HTML is something which students are knowing...

:o :o :o Don't say this :D In 20 hours you can do anything (some famous saying). Atleast say how much begineer. With little experience you can't do anything. Get expert in some language break down the project. Don't waste time :D get expert in some language (particulary which don't have much to learn like C). I don't why people say C is hard :D it is the easiest language (OK, Python and BASIC are easier). VB has no future ;)
