I am creating a small e-commerce site, need cut-to-size

Posted 07 November 2017 - 10:04 AM

I may be a bit over my head here, but I am looking at making a site for the company I am working for.

I have 3 products, but I need a few simple rules.

They are sheets of plastic, so needs to use a square foot cost to calculate the price.
If it's over 48" x 48" needs to say "CANNOT BE SHIPPED UPS, FREIGHT COST WILL BE ADDED."
Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

My apologies, it looks like my copy and paste didn't' cross over. Watch this space.

My apologies everyone, it seems I cannot edit my original post.

I was wondering what the best way to achieve this is. I have wondered if it's better to keep a calculator separate for customers to use and type in their square foot.

I've been using WordPress and was wondering if anyone knew of a widget possibly that allows me to create one with JScript.

Where should I be looking to get this done?

Are you making a checkout system or just a little calculator thing that doesn't do much outside of check some math equation?

I'll be making a checkout system. I'm currently working with WooCommerce if that makes a difference.

That's a fairly complex task if you do not have web dev experience. Not to mention security conscious issues.

As it is - you can do that sort of calculation with some basic javascript, jquery, or server side language. So it's a matter of knowing what you pages are in, where you need to know the information, and who needs to know it.. (ie.. the client side vs the server, etc).

Seems like

"https://wpspring.com/products/woocommerce-measurement-price-calculator/#reviews" would be good?

Certainly looks like it could tick off your requirements.
