connection string to mysql

Posted 09 January 2018 - 07:22 AM

Hello and happy new year to everyone ,
i get this error->System.ArgumentException was unhandled
HResult=-2147024809
Message=Keyword not supported: 'username'.
Source=System.Data

when i try to connect to my remote database.The connection string is :

        mysqlconn.ConnectionString = "server=xxxxx; username=xxxxx; password='xxxxxx';database=xxxxx;character set=utf8;Convert Zero Datetime=True "

This string was working properly on visual studio 2010 but when i took the project and continued to implement it on visual studio 2015 the error began to occur

Thanks in advance.

Check here: https://www.connecti...ings.com/mysql/

UID is the term not 'user name'.

If you search for "character set" in the linked page then you will see that it uses "CharSet" not "character set". But I would also remove it first, get it working, then apply it if you still need it.
