Currently, i have been fooling around with C# for awhile. The book i chose to read is Beginning C# 2008 by Christian Gross. It seems not to be for the beginner. Spending many days to finish some chapter i feel i have caught nohtin' from it.
Please suggest me some books or sites in order to start this language effectively.
Your suggestion will be really helpful to me.
Thanks in advance.

Amadeus recommended a great book. Another one I would say is even more tailored to beginners is the C# 2005 How to Program from Deitel publishing. They are a bit pricey and a bit thick, but that is because it is loaded with examples and they explain things in simple easy to understand terms. They have notes, tips, tricks etc throughout the book as well as review questions/answers at the end of each chapter. Plus example programs to play with.
I love the series and I am sure you will find it pretty comprehensive without being overwhelmed (other than the shear size of the book and price). It is worth it though.

Enjoy!

Another good book is C# for absolute beginners, there is a whole lone of * for absolute beginners and they are geared toward people with little to no experience.
