Last hunting season

Posted 16 January 2008 - 09:14 PM

These are some pics of the buck my son shot this year. It was shot on my property, we, most of the time, don't have to go far to get out deer each year (its one of the high points of living in the country lol). This year we're going to build a deer feeder about an acres or s0 away from the house and wait for the season to open again lol

Not bad for "back yard" hunting lol

I can't see where it was shot? I assume chest? Looks like a pretty nice kill there.

Straight through the neck with the deer at a full run. My son is a crack shot, I spent many a hour teaching him how to shoot :D

Dang thats nice, Think you could do headshot next time?, I haven't shot real guns yet, but however I am good with training replicas, and air rifles such as the one at those carnivals on metal pellets.

We hunt every year

  • White Tail Deer
  • Elk
  • Turkey
  • Cougar (only if your drawn for a tag)

We live in the country, I'm called a "High Tech Redneck" by all my friends. I live 15 miles to the closest store, yet my house is kinda full of electronics lol.

When you live in the country you hunt, its a big part of your winter meat (plus deer & elk sausage rocks).

Well he kind of already shot the deer anyways :P

The only hunting I have ever done was dove. It seemed easy. And kind of a pain, because we had to pick all the little pellets out of those little birds.

We don't get nearly enough access to firearms in the U.K. anymore but I have still used a few: 303, 202, 22, 12 Gauge
Plus air rifles and a longbow...couple of goes on a cross bow.

You can't bow hunt over here anymore so the weapon of choice for most is a shotgun as birds and rabbits are what most people are going for but we do still have a few deer hunters.

Hunters are required to wear something that makes them visible to other hunters.

deer can't see orange or what? because if they can, then nova is right and the camo under the orange is totally useless.

We're required here in Washington State to wear hunter orange so other hunters can tell us apart from deer, also, from the latest studies deer cant distinguish orange from any other color.
