Actually I have a question about Chinese New Year.
You know how at the Chinese restaurants they have those placemats with all of the years & what the animal for that year was? Well, why do they only generalize? What about people born before the Chinese New Year? Isn't that inaccurate?
I know, I know... you want to know why I'm obsessing over Chinese restaurant placemats, it's just a question

They generalise because Chinese New Year falls on a different date each year, due to their years being shorter, and every so many months ( I think thirty something ) they have a leap month, which brings it back in line.
But to explain it properly on a placemat would take all the fun of reading the placemat away.

Gong Xi! Gong Xi!
Ok, I'm not Chinese, but I'm in Jersey. Chances are I'll get a duck in the next few days, if I can get close the asian markets. I studied Mandarin once...
The calendar they're going by is a lunar calendar. It's roughly 12 moons long. Chinese New Year always begins on a new moon, because that's the start of the month. A lunar leap year involves throwing in another month. Curiously, the schedule for this is identical to the Hebrew calendar, though the timing is different.
For the critters, if you're born before the new year, you're from last year. My wife and I are both Monkeys ( laugh, there are worse options ), though she was born a year after me. We landed in the same Chinese year.

For some reason all my zodiacs are like highly killer/destructive. Except for my greek elemental sign.. go figure. Then on top of that I was born in dark snowstorm in the middle of Montana (where all those serial killers come from).
Chinese
Element: Fire
Year: Snake
Inner Animal: Boar
Greek
Scorpio (said to be the dominate house currently in the zodiac)
Element: Water
Some how I think I am here to destroy the planet. Since I am a programmer, maybe I will do it through my programming abilities! Maybe I will crash the markets and cause an economic disaster that leads to war and the eventual end of civilization!
That or I could just be paranoid and somewhat delusional with grandiose ideology. But I don't think that is the case because my imaginary friend "the prince of shadows" would have told me so.

Marty, now the n00b in me comes out and rears its ugly head, but how do you find this information? How would I go about finding this information for myself?
