Why u guys go programming?
I know this might sound absurd, but i'm just collecting ideas and wanna know what others think. I have interview next week, my lecturer wanna ask wat field i'm going to go to in the future. I wanna go programming but I myself dont know why I wanna go programming.
What do u think? Why go programming?

Because I wanna help people! I thought maybe I should be a doctor or a defense lawyer or some humanitarian for a small african village in the middle of the congo. Then I thought, why feed poor children when I could teach them C++ and they could then write software in their starving communities!
That and I enjoy the challenge of being faced with a theoretical problem and coming up with solutions. I also like building things and seeing my creations being used by others to address their real world problems. I also enjoy sharing ideas and practicing a craft. Plus it makes good money (usually) and why not do something you like to do and get paid for it as well?

ugh. ok, at least it happened on the first of the month this time so it will be easy to track how many days till this thread comes up again.
also, man, don't do anything if you're not sure that's what you want to do.

hence, our Martyr2 motto - "I was put on this planet to code" lol
Thanx for the advice. though I'm not 100% sure (I'm 95% sure), I think I wanna go Information Engineering next year. still wanna hear other people opinion tho.

I personally program because I like it when I hear people say
"I like using this rather than something else"
So satisfaction I guess.
But true, better than being the fat guy who picks up your garbage once a week..

After sobbing by myself to sleep after another day in the living hell that is known as working retail, I tried a few things out on my own and found I actually like writing code
I guess I just love creating things and problem solving

Agree that programming involve a lot of problem solving..but then, isnt any other field also need problem solving skill? and some of that also needs ur love-to-create-things stuff.
I had cooking, engineering, movie making in my mind. it also involve a lot of problem solving and love of creating thing. but then again, whats so fun in programming?what makes u feel programming is fun?
(oh no,I might sound like I'm flaming programming, but I'm not.just seeing things from wat others might c.just being neutral on this)
p/s : thanks Wolfcoder. its one of my fav game when I was a kid.tried looking for it but dont know its title.THANXX

I went with programming because there was tons of different things I needed but they werent made yet so i set out on my own quest of creating the stuff that would help me, and others.

I went programming as I really enjoy computers, and I found I enjoyed them more when I was able to create my own applications. Computers are fun and useful.
