Agree that programming involve a lot of problem solving..but then, isnt any other field also need problem solving skill? and some of that also needs ur love-to-create-things stuff.

I had cooking, engineering, movie making in my mind. it also involve a lot of problem solving and love of creating thing. but then again, whats so fun in programming?what makes u feel programming is fun?

(oh no,I might sound like I'm flaming programming, but I'm not.just seeing things from wat others might c.just being neutral on this)

p/s : thanks Wolfcoder. its one of my fav game when I was a kid.tried looking for it but dont know its title.THANXX ^^

It's good to have a lot of interests in other areas, besides you don't want to convert all of your hobbies to jobs that would just take the fun out of the enjoyment you get from your hobbies

I really enjoy the mental stimulation. I find my days of work fly by every day because its just so easy to become absorbed in my work. Its a job that keeps you thinking.

I find I can really apply the "Carrot on a stick" analogy to programming as well. Since everything with computers changes so fast, you are constantly forced to learn new things. You're learning new techniques, languages, etc on a daily basis. No matter how quick you learn, and how much you put into it; you will never reach the point where you know everything you need to know... You can ALWAYS improve. I really like that about this career. Being only out of school for 1 year, I still have PLENTY to learn, and I am loving every second of it.

The reason/way that I got into programming is because of always having a love for computers. At the age of 14 or 15 I created a network for the school I attended, and loved working with them. From there on out, everytime that I could learn something new, I tried it. Whether it was writing queries, graphic design, or programming. Once I hit my programming concepts class in college, I figured out that that was what I wanted to do....Program 4 Life!
