read up on System.Diagnostics in the .NET or MSDN library it should help you figure out what you are doing.

There is a snippet here on DIC that will show you how to loop through your Task Manager to see if a certain process (or application) is running. As zakary, this snippet uses the System.Diagnostics Namespace. That should help you get started
