I am about 1 week away from finishing The Ultimate HGTG which contains all the books.

I am looking for some good books to read, which I think is a great way to unwind.

I read most of Stephen Kings works as well as John Grishams.

What do you guys recommend as good reading. Any good novels come out as of recent?

Humm, what about Patricia Cornwell(crime drama)? I have some books by her, but recently I have been reading the Stephenie Meyer Twilight series books *is a sucker for a good love story* but thats just the girly-girl in me. My friend likes Dean Koontz, hes a suspense writer and his stuff is supposed to be good.

@sloth - awesome I will look into those.

@AlilSpaced - Thank you also. I'll pass on Johnny loves Suzy, but I also heard Dean Koontz was good. I never bothered to give him a shot. Maybe I will.

Not sure if you're a fan of the Dune series - if so, Sandworms of Dune is out. It's part 2 of the Dune 7 set that was written by Herbert's son Brian and Kevin Anderson based on notes from Herbert himself.

If you like physics (I do), Lee Smolin's The Trouble with Physics is quite good.

I think my friend is in a stalker-relationship with Dean, he talks about him all the time, I dunno, I mean if the guy is that amazing of a writer....

If you like John Grisham, try Patricia, I don't think they are anything alike as far as their styles are concerned, but when ever I read her books it just reminds me of him somehow....

I just went through a patch of reading Kurt Vonnegut. Hocus Pocus and Breakfast of Champions were my favorites, but none of his are bad. His short stories are generally excellent too.

Rage

My favourite of Stephen King's books, closely followed by The Running Man and The Dead Zone.

Just finished Thinner last night, didn't like the ending.

I thought Regulators and Cell were both pretty good by Stephen King.
Insomniac was weird but then again it is Stephen King.

Funny thing about Thinner was as a kid, my grandma would tell us that story - I never realized it till I grew up and read/watched the movie.

Nope. Techy, Sci-Fi, Fantasy or just plain old good fiction.

No biographies or love stories.

Robert Jordan? I'm on the second Wheel of Time book at the moment, it's fairly straightforward fantasy fare but very readable so far.
