Performance Review Goals

Posted 14 March 2008 - 12:58 PM

It is that time of the year if you haven't had it already and your employer is asking you to log this years goals. Usually your boss assigns some performance goals and has you create your own as well.

What are some of the personal goals you set for yourself?

How hard do you work at achieving those goals?

the other day, a collegue was working on my pc at work and he clicked on drop-down and the job portal website. It was quite embarrasing.
So I have decided to use separate browser for job searches ;)

When we were the one bank Websense had anything related to Job Search filtered. We were acquired by a bigger bank and I can go to almost any job site. I will be taking advantage of in July.... ;)

Not that I don't like the field, I am just not a fan of the financial sector, and my boss acts like our servers are more important than our personal life. God forbid our fax application slows down, not even jams, just slows down it is like call in the National Guard and raise the terror alert!!!

I always laugh at them people.

For me some goals are to finish what someone started 3 years ago before walking away from the company, to rebuild what the same person built 3 years ago, and did a crappy job at, and to take on all new tasks that are thrown my way. What really stinks is that there is NO docuemtation on what he did, and no one really knows why he did things, and he was let go the day after he put in his 2 week notice, so he was not here to train me!

My main goal for 2008 is to convert an extremely large ASP website (about 15,000 lines of VB Script, containing about 300 includes files  ) to an ASP.Net/C# Web Application.

Didn't bother with last years since the previous ones were never even signed by my manager. This year the company is busy with laying off 25% of its head office, so I may list a decent redundancy package as my only goal!

We don't have a goals system but my performance review is going to be any day now, I'm really getting sick of waiting for it.
