It's hard to say whish is my favorite, since I do have:
  • XBOX
  • XBOX 360
  • PS2
  • Game Cube
  • SNES

If I had to say which I enjoyed more, I think it would have to be the 360

I love my 360, PS2 has always been good to me.

Personally I could and still do play a ton of NES games.

Super Dodge Ball anyone? River City Ransom, Mike Tyson's punch out still gives me a challenge with Soda Popinski & Super Macho Man.

I don't think I ever beat Super Macho Man to this day but I beat Tyson.

C64 - I love Speedball 2, they actually released it on Live Arcade which I downloaded the demo but not too sure of the fan base.

Ye Air Kung Fu is still my favorite Fighting game which I also spend many hours playing on the 360.

I love SNES including the marios and more classic street fighter II. But I dig my ps3 and while they had been slow coming out with the games, I noticed today that they are releasing many many more and their titles is definitely growing quite quickly. I anticipate they will be on par with 360 very soon.

I still play a lot of NES games also but no I don't play Super Dodge Ball. I enjoy the older generation game consoles because they don't have as good graphics as today and they have better game play. :D I like the Mario and Final Fantasy games for the NES and SNES. PS2 is quite good and I still have a lot of games for that :D

u bet.
Given a choice I'd still prefer a game with better gameplay over one with better graphics.

Exactly! A lot of people I know seem to like better graphics in games but if you notice games with high quality graphics tend to be boring or difficult to play and are just not any fun.

That's why SNES/NES/PS1 are my favorites because they have a lot of games with great gameplay without real high quality graphics.

I think the problem with games now and days are you get Hollywood and Licensing involved. - Meet the 60.00 shit for game.

I tend to stay away from Movie title purchases (i might still rent) - Iron Man, Hulk, Wall-e.

I try to stay away from EA titles - although I am so fricking addicted to Sports games there is no other developer (Hence the reason I am picking up my copy of NCAA 09 at Midnight :) )

NES/SNES games still capture my attention to this day and I would rather spend $5.00 - $10.00 on a title and have playability with it for years.

Game Publishers tend to think we need Hollywood cinematics to account for their shit games.

That's what I like about SNES games is you can play them for years and not get bored of them. I love sports games also :D I haven't got a new one in quite some time or even have my PS2 hooked up right now, it's a box somewhere :D

SNES hands down. No system has ever delivered the quality and consistency of games that SNES has. Nostalgia to the max.

:o Graphics aren't everything!

Games aren't just about fancy graphics, they're about having a good storyline... something that a lot of modern games seem to lack.

Well to be fair, games with good storylines are a mixed bag of sorts but I think the saturation of quality storylines is much greater today then it was back in the heyday of the 90s.

I love Eye of the Beholder and I love the Gold Box games but I don't think they compare with even most shooters story-wise and that's mainly because those games focused on combat and stats much more than the story.

And, like I said earlier, it's a mixed bag. Ultima was known for it's quality story and that came out in the 80s but the saturation is greater now then back in the day. :P

As for the topic, I like anything that plays games but I must admit I'm more of a PC user. What can I say, I like my Baldur's Gate and my Fallout. :)

I'll take a good storyline over over saturated graphics, mindless explosions, fight scenes, etc. any day.

/agree

NES - Dragon Warrior or the original Zelda anyone? How bout Contra? Damn I miss those games.

SNES - The Yoshi games were a blast

Final Fantasy anything was awesome though my two favorite are probably FFTactics and FFVII closely followed by FFX and FFIX. I still remember putting in countless hours on FFVII just to get the items that I wanted and breeding that gold chocobo. [daydream]

PS3 for the newest Gen Consoles IMO!~

But no other gaming consoles has touched my life like Snes/Sega Genesis

I spent countless hours playing Megaman X-X3 Looking for those damn shiny armors... and who can forget Super Mario All Stars Included with the new Super Mario World

Not to Mention Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3

Game developers spend too much time trying to create FPS.. they need to go pick up a SNES and get some inspiration for some new inspirational stuff.

Just My Opinion.
