No more caffeine or no more coding?

If you had to give up one, which would it be?

Posted 01 April 2008 - 01:32 PM

Alright: here's the deal. In our hypothetical situation, you have to give up caffeine or coding. You pick.

Chocolate is still okay if you choose to go decaf despite the small amount of caffeine in it.
Otherwise, you aren't allowed to code at all - programming, CSS, HTML, nothing. Just plain text. WYSIWYG editors are okay but you cannot look at / modify the source code.

Personally I'd shoot myself.

Caffeine, there are so many natural stimulants like a nice walk or some yoga....WTF. Go for some taurine and ginseng, thats all i need to take caffeines place.

The thing for me would be the Mt. Dew loss. I live off of it. And I haven't found any taurine without caffeine, but I don't have extensive experience.

I'd give up coding, even though I don't drink much caffeine at all.

I'd give up caffeine...but if the choice were whiskey or coding, you may have a different answer.

It would be a strange situation ... to find yourself forced to make this kind of a decision.

However, since coding puts food on the table, I'd give up caffeine.

I only really have one or two cups of tea a week, I can probably do without that a lot easier than my job.

I have already made this decision in real life. I have drank no caffeine products for the past 2 and a half years. No pop, no regular tea, not even caffeinated green tea... I only drink decaf green tea.

I guess I get trace amounts in chocolate, but that is about it. :)
