As I have just recently updated it to reflect my current living situation as well as contact information and job history, I've been uploading it to a few places, so one more wont hurt.

I also updated my resume. After several revisions and advice from HR professionals my end result looks like this.

Finally got a little bit of experience, so I've been able to put a half decent one together.

Might not be as good as you guys, but it might be a good example for the younger members, like myself, who are looking to get into the industry.

I'd also appreciate some feedback, if possible~ this is my first tech-specific CV. :)

I'm still currently working on my C.V. (just finished my draft) but I just wanted to suggest people also consider managing their on-line identity as well as their physical identity. It's becoming increasingly likely that employers will research you on-line rather extensively (or in current cases at least google you.) My careers office gave me an example of when she was a consultant for a large recruitment company she had a manager come in who was getting lots of response to his C.V. only to be rejected two days later... this happened like seven times. She then had the idea to google his full name and found a rather harsh scaving and jaded forum report by a staff member that called him things as "hard ass" and "hell to work under." So, to solve this they put his middle name on the C.V. and set up a "LinkedIn" profile for his name with the middle initial and the very next job he applied for he got! I'm not suggesting people change their C.V. details only that they be careful with what they put on-line. I'm currently filtering through my google results and changing profile details on some sites to remove those from my google page.

Here is a harsh example for you as well gabe, when I google a certain person on the boards the first result I get is;

Quote

***** ******** - My Care2
***** ********: Give my power to someone else, I'm crap with responsibility =]
www.care2.com/c2c/people/profile.html?pid=********* - 123k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this

I wouldn't hire you. Would you?

~ Craig

EDIT: Removed profile ID and persons name so this wont get them on google o.o;

Government jobs do not normally require you to put your SSN on your resume [they have other forms for that]. So either they are starting new protocols or you got hoodwinked.

The spacing is off near the end and that looks sloppy (in my opinion). The columns need to line up.

I have never seen tables used on a resume before. Nor have I ever seen the parenthesis and (only if applicable) statement. Was this the format requested by your employer? I am graduating in may and well into my job search so I am obviously concerned about having the best resume I can. The college career services counselor told me to eliminate work dates on my resume because I have been out of the work force for nearly ten years. However, A recruiter was kind enough to call me anyway because he needed me to go out on an interview and told me normally he would have thrown it in the trash. He wanted to know not only what years I worked but on the years I was not working I was to give a reason. By the way the employer said it was a great interview. A tie between me and one other applicant. The other applicant got the job :angry: Here is my current resume. For those doing on-line applications a great tip I got was to email a copy of your resume and send it to your self so you can see how it comes out electronically. I now have a formatted resume for hard copies and an e-resume for cutting and pasting to web sites
