Well I'm looking for a career right now, here's my resume:
http://www.dsprototy...sume-2010-W.doc

its two pages long but I feel that it shows everything that needs to be conveyed to the employer.

I'm always up for suggestions, so drop me a line if you see anything that can be changed.

Some really nice CV's are posted here. I like Seth's one, too.

I would like to know if you have a strict regulation what has to be in a CV and what has to be left out. Here in germany we have a given template.

We've talked about resume formats in the past, but after being asked to reformat my resume by the new company I work for, I want to see everyone elses resume.

Here's my new resume:

Share yours, maybe someone here will see it and hire you, but either way you'll get to see others resumes and maybe improve your own.

hahaha to bad you didn't work there when it was cool :)

ok ok, you mention the software of firefox, dos, and microsoft office, but did you program those? or are you certified in them? (i don't think you can get certified in DOS) or are those programs that you just use?

not to dis you Its just that I never put that stuff on my resume unless I've goten paid to use it or took classes on it.

nothing will upload. heres a png.

well with it being a png, its ether way to big or way to small to view on my monitor. Granted I could use a graphics prog to view it, but you have to remember that most secretary won't have access to such programs.

I'm sure you have other versions of your resume, when dic gets back to 100% you'll have to post the links to them. :)

Here's my resume in my usual format, as well as the new diligent specific format that chris and i were just forced into doing.

I think soon I will probably create a nice middle ground between the two.

wow, I think its weird to see a web sight listed under experience. :) Did you work with DIC as an employee with pay? That would be cool if I could get paid by my favorite web sights.

but then again I could list all the programs that I use to edit my web page.

@Sethro117 Just checked out your resume. Your parents should have added another name. I'm thinking something starting with an "L" between the Seth and the Orrin. Lucas, Leonard, Lemur, Lucifer.... something. Just sayin'.

I'm still currently working on my C.V. (just finished my draft) but I just wanted to suggest people also consider managing their on-line identity as well as their physical identity. It's becoming increasingly likely that employers will research you on-line rather extensively (or in current cases at least google you.) My careers office gave me an example of when she was a consultant for a large recruitment company she had a manager come in who was getting lots of response to his C.V. only to be rejected two days later... this happened like seven times. She then had the idea to google his full name and found a rather harsh scaving and jaded forum report by a staff member that called him things as "hard ass" and "hell to work under." So, to solve this they put his middle name on the C.V. and set up a "LinkedIn" profile for his name with the middle initial and the very next job he applied for he got! I'm not suggesting people change their C.V. details only that they be careful with what they put on-line. I'm currently filtering through my google results and changing profile details on some sites to remove those from my google page.

Here is a harsh example for you as well gabe, when I google a certain person on the boards the first result I get is;

Quote

***** ******** - My Care2
***** ********: Give my power to someone else, I'm crap with responsibility =]
www.care2.com/c2c/people/profile.html?pid=********* - 123k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this

I wouldn't hire you. Would you?

~ Craig

EDIT: Removed profile ID and persons name so this wont get them on google o.o;

That's good advice, I've also heard that not only are employers googling people, other employees are googling people. So what ever they find they can gossip about. this can lead to pour working conditions.

I search my name every so often to see what comes up That way I can keep track of all the other Mes that are out there. I even found another me on facebook and added him as my friend. :) I should have an Andrew party!

When I worked in Twinsburg I noticed that everyone covered there name badges so that you couldn't see there last name. When working in Akron I caught a lady copying down names at the time clock, since the badges were right there were everyone can see them.

lol BenignDesign that would have been pretty cool I guess. It took my English teach a year to figure out my initials spelled out SOTH and he called me that until graduation. I kinda wish they had used Eugene or something. That'd have been badass.

EDIT: I googled myself the other night and I was number 1. Now I'm like number 4. These Hall shirtless twin brothers keep moving up top. :(

Is googling yourself slang for something I dont know about? Or do you just find it funny that I actually went to Google.com and searched for Seth Hall?
