How long have you been coding?

Hey guys, I'm just wondering how long have you guys been programming?
I recently started Java about seven weeks ago and am loving it so far, despite my lack of skill.
I practice nightly and do really enjoy it, it just takes me awhile to get things [maybe because I'm not really "maths-minded"?]

Anyway, I thought this would be interesting. So post away!

1 year. I started HTML last year, and I now know [HTML/CSS] VB2005, Java and I'm starting Lua, Ruby, C++ and MySQL.

if you include college about 4-5 years


but i don't really count that so about a year

Professionally around 14 - 15 years, better than 20 if you want to go back that far :)

7 years. 3.5 academic, 3.5 professionally.

My first programs were in Basic and were more or less just for fun. I did my first "game" program about the 7th grade (oh so many years ago). Did computer science competition back in high school...
Professionally about 8 1/2 years. I took a break from it when I worked in Tech support for a major software company based in Washington, and came back to it about 1998 with Visual C++6.

4 years of college + 5 years of random, sporadic coding of random languages intermingled with a CS department lackey position + 2 years and counting as a freelancer.

I started programming for fun almost 25 years ago, when I was just a kid.

Full-Time Professionally it'll be 10 years in May. Did some part time stuff before for going full time, but not a lot.
