I had a problem with my email client earlier today and have been on a desk cleaning expedition to locate my Office disk. In the process, I came across 18 tons of old software that I haven't been able to use for YEARS yet still keep, such as....
Complete set of Windows 95 installation floppy disks.
Some very very dusty 5 1/4" floppies... left over from BASIC programming in high school.
Some ZIP disks containing all my old college projects (I haven't had a ZIP drive in 10 years).
and some books....
"Getting Started with Windows 3.1"
"HTML for Dummies" (copyright 1997)
and last, but not least....
An 853.6MB Western Digital Caviar Hard Drive, circa 1996.
Anyway, it got me wondering what kind of old junk everyone else has been stashing for years. So tell me.... what antique horrors live in your desk?
Obsolete Computer StuffWhat worthless junk are you still hoarding?

I've got a Commodore 64 in original box and a 1541 disk drive in original packaging. They boxes are a bit beat up, but I can't bring my self to get ride of them.
I used to have a couple of old Amiga's around a 1000 and a few 2000's. but I had to let them go when I moved in with my Wife a few years back.

I have 2 old floppy drives (does anyone even use these nowadays?), I even have an old Socket 2 AMD processor w/ working motherboard. I have 3 GB SDRAM (Not sure why I'm holding onto this shit). I can almost build me an antique computer with the parts I have in my computer closet, thats right, I said closet. I have an entire closet dedicated to computer parts, and at least 90% of the actually still work!

I still have a few thousand Blank Punch cards. And also all of the first programs I ever wrote are on punched cards and backed up on rolls of punched tape.
I also have a disk pack with 8 platters. hmmmm..... I wonder whats on them and still readable. I also have a REAL 5.25" floppy disk but again, nothing to read it with.
I wonder if I can find a punched card reader that is compatible Windows.

I have a Commodore 64 Exec portable version with 2 built-in 5.25" floppies, loads of software and books for it as well. Also have the complete series of Compute! Magazine from the 80's when the C64 was hot. How about a book on 6502 Machine Language.
How about 3 different versions of HP RPN calculators, and several slide rules. I think my drafting supplies and a T-square are still around somewhere too.

A Gravis Ultrasound Classic card. I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it again, but it is history.

I used to have a ton of old technotrash hanging around but there isn't space for it in this house. After a couple garage sales and illegal dumpings I think I've gotten rid of most of it.
