Wow... Gas has really shot up here in central Florida. It jumped another 8 cents in 4 hours today. I'm now paying 3.41 a gallon for regular.
Cigarettes... forgt it... 3.20 cents a pack... I got home from work today to open my paper. Cigarettes will get another tax on them to bring them up to over 5.50 a pack within a year... Oh well, looks like it's time to quit.
I know that's pretty cheap compared to some places. What are you paying?

Minnesota's already got outrageous tax on cigarettes. Marlboros are at about $4.25 a pack. Not that I am a regular smoker by any means, but it still seems fishy that governments can tax one item so heavily.
And gas? I can't say I really care about that particular subject anymore. It's another petty issue that contributes to the larger issue of how American citizens (and Government) are spending dollars, time and other resources that we will soon find very precious.

Wow, that's really bad.
I'm in Upstate New York, we're paying about $3.75 per gallon. Shame, by the time I get my license (~4-5 months) it'll probably be $4.50. Why couldn't I have grown up a decade earlier???
I don't know about cigarettes, I think they're about $5.55 / pack but I could be way off. Buying them really isn't a regular task for somebody my age.

see gov'ment is taxing packs so less people die, now its a bad method, cause addicts will pay 100 bucks a pack either way.

In Podunk, Pennsyltucky:
Gas: $3.45/gallon
Cigarettes: $5.50/pack
It'll soon be time to start licking the residue out of the ashtrays.
