Global warming

Posted 29 April 2008 - 09:17 AM

Global warming is a big issue nowadays and I will assume that those of you here know or at least know what is it about. I've read many articles on the internet on what you can do to stop global warming such as recycle, wash clothes at full capacity, blablabla. but I'm interested on what we, as a programmer, or a computer user, can do to slow down the effect of global warming.

discuss.

I guess I could stop powering my servers through the energy released through a tire fire in my back yard, and stop having my aerosol spray can lunch time fiestas. It'll be hard, but I'd like to do my part.

i love it when people say 'global warming can't be real, today was COLD! omg!'. someone really needs to pick a new term so people understand it's not about how hot it is, or how cold it is, it's about the effect we are having on the environment due to our wastefulness. hooooly shit what an amazing concept.

Global Warming is a catalyst to get people to buy more stuff they don't need. The overall message being presented is, "If you wanna go green, then I need to buy this, this, this, this and this." I figure if all the buying is going to help stimulate the American economy, then I'm all for it.

Write AL gore letters pleding him to stop flying all around the world in his 1970's era private jet.

I had a 1977 Caddy Eldorado that thing got 5 MPG I can assume his jet gets about the same shitty millage.

Or you can buy carbon credits from me. Ill sell ohhh 3 at $100 a pop and it will go towards planting more trees on my property. ( I only have 300 apple trees as is)

I actually just finished writing a research paper on this. I could go on forever about it.

The whole thing is pretty dumb. But I really don't want to re write my papers so if anyone has anything to say, Ill just argue that one point. haha.

What if Global Warming is true and then Northern continents burn/freeze?!?! Will Africa and South America then become the world superpowers due to fair weather, sufficient moisture and overall ideal climates?!??!?!? :-O

No I actually go to a class for this one. Outside of the house. No relatives are close to this building. At any time. The class would suck, but that is where I met my woman! So it is all good.

lack of options for you? her? or mutual?

i mean, it's not just any woman who settles for a man with a debilitating disease at such an early age. she has her whole life ahead of her! she should be able to freely bang without worries about blood sugar.

"hey, let's do it"
"wait, lemme eat an apple real quick. oh wait, longer than 5 minutes? lemme eat two"
