Yeah, well I finally ordered my upgrade. w00t, nuff said heres what I got
1x: Asus P4S533 SiS 645DX P4 (533FSB) Skt478 DDR333 ATX Motherboard w/Audio, LAN Retail
1x: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor (Northwood) 2.4GHz, 533MHz FSB, Socket 478 Retail
2x: Samsung IC Chipset 256MB DDR333 PC2700 Memory
all for.... $440.50(that includes the $2 2day FedEx)
w00t im so happy! 900Mhz to 2.4Ghz wow... nice jump for me. I guess you can say I have bragging rights, so HAHHA I OWN YOU!
I would have gone with RDRAM cept that would have put the price around 600.

edit: nevermind. thought that was the whole system!
if my next upgrade isn't an apple laptop, it will be an amd based box..... more bang for your buck

Eh, Im on an AMD right now. I cant stand the shitty chipsets and the heat. So I decided to go Intel.

i really need an upgrade. im running a 233 P2 w/96 MB RAM and First-Gen 3D: ATI Rage PRO 
and a 6 GB HD. although i recently popped in an additional 4 GB HD

Hell, I still use my Pentium 133Mhz Dell laptop, that I bought in 1995-96(?), on a daily basis.... With a damn 1.3 Gb HD.
But I got that for certain tasks and it does them well and securely.

I will upgrade sometimes when I don't owe people money 
I'm currently running a pII 350 w/ 384MB ram, some crappy ati rage 4MB graphics card, and a 60, count that, 60GB hard drive
at the moment I'm more bothered about getting my network up and running, so I can link to my other, slightly better pc, but things are not going well

Bah as long as it works right? I'm in the process of getting a new comp as well... 2200+ athlon is my goal, with the asus a7v333 motherboard.
And in realality does anyone ever overheat their processor. if you have adaquite cooling you're in no trouble. I want a dual 1000mhz G4 too... :|

ive got the 266,board, very nice.
and i dont think anyone could disagree with a nice dual 1ghz g4. ever. period.

Yeah a good friend of mine just got the a7v333 about two weeks ago and it one of the nicest boards I have seen... the layout is nice, 6 channel audio sounds nice, the thurmo sensor is cool... and PC2700 is nice. I'm not into paying $$$$ for a couputer that will be outdated in a few months anyway... It is ether that or a laptom... not sure yet.
