Some of the mods and I put this together: http://www.dreaminco...h...mp;f=1&id=7

It's a good read for those lurking and afraid to post.

Don't be afraid, read the announcement and hop right in to the conversation. We don't bite. Promise!

Take it slow and you'll fit right in!

probably not.

Some quick things to remember

* Reply with worthwhile, insightful comments that people will enjoy reading.

i won't enjoy reading it.

Quote

* Don't troll topics looking for reasons to make constantly negative comments.

apparently i'm being told to leave

Quote

* Keep it PG-13 please.

hi-larious.

* Have fun, we joke around and pick on each other, we don't take it personally.

Nice piece of work, but could probably use some tweaking.

Quote

Plugging your personal website
This comes off rather badly if you do it too soon after joining. It is known as "site-whoring," and you will be flamed. If you want to plug your (or anyone else's) site, put a link in your sig, or wait until you are an established reg.

actually I think that you're rewarding this ... under the topic
http://www.dreaminco...wtopic40573.htm

Starting redundant threads
We are not a news service, but many of us check them frequently. Before you make a topic specifically to bring us a link, animation, or story, do a quick forum search for the URL and related keywords. If the only thing you're posting is the link, you might want to reconsider.

So if there's a thread that is 6 or 7 years old, that is relevant, are we reviving it then or starting a redundant thread? But you say later in the document

Quote

Necroposting
Unless you've got something incredibly insightful to say and a genuine interest in continuing the discussion, don't bump old threads that have died a natural death.

Quote

Failing to pay attention to grammar and spelling
Nobody here demands epic poetry from other users, but posts that are incomprehensible will most likely be misinterpreted, ignored, or flamed.

Can we still flame or be flamed for this in the lounge, or are we asked to refrain from doing so?

Quote

Having a gigantic sig
Sigs should be no larger than 80 pixels in height and around up to 100kb in size.

What if the sig is not an image, but a compilation of great quotes?

Great work guys. Just had some questions about it is all.

I think you should just read Sloth's find of the "What makes a fuckhead" article, it's very insightful, heh~

Also, do not make a thread solely for the purpose of referring to a thread that has been locked. Even if it's a joke thread, it's not funny enough to warrant it.

Hmm.... I do remember one of those, not too long ago.

Reviving 7 year old threads is always necroposting. The older it is, the better that insight should be. It's not a catch all, just a guideline. For example, two iron man threads in one week would be redundant. When the sequel comes out, bumping the old topic would be necroposting. However, if you saw it in two weeks and wanted to add your comments then, bumping the topic would be the correct action. Just use common sense and everything should work fine or we'll merge/lock as necessary, no biggie.

I look at it like always, when someone is new you just give em a nudge in the right direction, when the continually ignore the nudges and fail to uphold the most basic of grammatical standards, the heat will obviously be turned up a little.

Generally we allow one sig image up to 80px and then up to 3 lines of text afterwards (no spacing between lines). You can mix and match that amount of space to fit whatever content you want (no [*center] tag) we aren't going to be asses to the people with 85px, this is to cover for those people who have to have the garish 300px sig.

I think smashing all your cool links and stuff you want to show off into tiny 16x16pxl links is a great idea. Kinda looks like an icon version of stuff below sloth's siggy.

Plus I like how XFire made an icon that changes to the game you're currently playing and faded out if you're not even on XFire, quite kawaii indeed~

I don't like it when they cram 80 user bars into a sig... -_- I think you're only supposed to have (specifically) 4 user bars in a siggy.
