Group By in a WebGrid

Posted 19 May 2008 - 12:39 PM

I am populating a Webgrid using a Stored Procedure in MS SQL 2005, the population of the grid works fine but i want to know if there is a way for me to group the results by a date

IE.

Date User
05/19/2008 John
05/19/2008 Carol
05/18/2008 Bill
05/18/2008 Mark

Becomes

Date User
05/18/2008 Bill
Mark
05/19/2008 Carol
John

......................

I know i can do this by changing the Stored Procedure but this SP is being used by other projects so i cant really change it.

So is there a way to Group these using ASP.Net or C#.Net? Like a property in the WebGrid or something?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

There isn't a WebGrid control in ASP.NET standard library.

Can you be more specific as to the exact type of control you are using?

Sorry about that...actually im using an Infragistics UltraWebGrid, and i did figure out how to do the group by i think...now my issue is find a way to split a DateTime Column from the Stored Procedure into 2 seperate columns, Date and Time so i can Group the UltraWebGrid by the Date only.
