Where to start on the programming path.

Posted 04 June 2008 - 10:44 PM

Hello guys,

Well i'm not 100% sure this is the best place for this type of thread, in which case feel free to move it.

Ok , well i was wondering what programming language people suggest starting off with? I currrently know some java (limited, ohh so limited) , PHP, HTML, VB, now i was planning on working through my java books that i had bought for me a year back, and once i get all of the concepts down move onto C++ and then finally C#. Now i was wondering what you, the people in the actual business suggest to start with?

All suggestions are accepted :D

my first question would be what do you want to be writing

if the answer is windows apps then look to c#

web then look to asp.net, html some c# java ajax

if your aims are different other people will have to help here

but say for example you wanted to jump on the CUDA bandwagon you'll have to becopme adept at C(or C++)
