Yeah, we'll help out, as long as you're not one of the people that doesn't POST THEIR CODE.

I used JCreator as my first Java IDE, and it's very basic, which is nice for a beginner. I only use NetBeans for building Swing GUI projects. Other than that, I use JCreator.

JCreator LE is free, Pro is not, although I just used Pro until the trial ran out, then installed LE. Pro has code completion (nice tool).

Well there's my opinion, I don't know anything about IntelliJIDEA, so I can't help you with that, but if you're a complete beginner to Java, I would recommend JCreator.

JCreator is great. it helps u get a handle on the way java works without doing to much of the coding for u. i started on JCreator and then after i kinda knew wt i was doing moved to eclipse.

my advice... stick with creator. give it 3-4 weeks (max) and then switch to a more complex IDE.

(or if your feeling really getto get out notepad and do ALL ur coding in tht :P )

JCreator isn't bad, but it's very basic.

If you don't use Windows, or you want more features, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

I use Eclipse (also free)
I think it is just a quetsion of personal preference...
Eclipse alse has a C/C++ plug in if you use both languages and only want to use a single IDE
