it is going to happen to the point that it surpasses us, and there's nothing wrong with it. just evolution, baby. kind of ironic that we're creating our successors, though. :alien:

A computer can't think by itself without 2pages of code, therfore it really isnt thinking by itself cause you just programmed it to do so ;)

I disagree... somewhat.

Interacting with a computer should be as easy as communicating with a human
With emerging trends to make web sites accessible to all, AI is a natural step. Speech recognition, eye scanners, finger print readers, iButtons, and more are all tools that could somewhat easily be incorporated into AI software. Maybe not now, but soon.

Can a human think for itself?

Not till it learns so.

Computer can be taught to learn, much as a human does.

Look at games now days. In some games an enemy responds to you based on how you've played up till that point. Some have algorithms that analyze the way you move, shoot, engage targets, avoid obstacles, collect items, spend money, and many other factors.... All so they can engage you in a more "realistic" manner.

yeah, a MORE realistic manner, but it comes down to CODE. A game such as the above just has a ton of 'if' type statements. Thats all.

Computer games dont think for themselves. They respond to your actions through if and for statements.

A computer dosnt LEARN your moves.

If the computer isnt programmed beyond a certain extent, it wont relay anything beyond that extend.
unlike us.
