I have had many blogs in the past, mainly Blogger or Wordpress. I am using one now though DIC (http://code-universe.co.nr). Is there any other good free blogging services out there. Any help will be much appreciated!

Those are a bit heavy for simply a Blog service.
Wordpress is my personal choice, but use what suits the project. If your doing short, twitter like posts, check out Tumblr, or if your doing photo heavy blogs, try Wordpress + some nifty plugins. Lots of options out there, you just have to manipulate whats available to make it work for you.

They're not even proper blog systems. They are aimed at Content Management Systems (CMS).

Why do you want something other than blogger or wordpress? They are both probably the best.
