The 4th of July

What are your plans for the celebration of our nations independence?
For me, it's just another work day, except since it's on Friday, I get paid in cash. When I get home, we may go to a friends for a cookout, or just go see the fireworks. Nothing much, nothing special... How about you?

I don't know yet. In Michigan we used to go to a local park every 4th of July to watch fireworks. The kids enjoyed it. Here we don't really know where to go (for free) and watch fireworks.
Maybe we'll have a cookout or something.

Sounds like I'll be spending some time with my Grandparents next weekend, we went to WI and bought $200 worth of fireworks to launch off in their back yard.

Wow.. That's great! I remember doing the same. My last grand parent passed when I was about 19. I got the letter when I was over seas. I remember Dad going to the south of the border (North / South Carolina line) and buying God aweful amounts of fireworks... Even though they were illegal, and 3 cops showed up to watch the festivities. Funny, they saw nothing illegal that night.
Of course... they each took a "care package" home with them...
Those were the days...
Enjoy your 4th Marko!!!

We are going to the next town over they are having a good ole fashioned independence day BBQ. There is going to be sack, turtle, frog races all sorts of old timey festivities and then Fireworks at dark.
nothing says community like blowing stuff up and celebrating freedom.

I'm having family come in town, but I think I am going to the wife's side of the family in Ocean City, MD to have a cook-out and watch fireworks. Haven't decided yet though. Also, fireworks are illegal here, but my parents community sets them off all week long, and the cops are sitting in their boats watching. Also, there are firework displays everywhere you look at my parents. The nice thing about living right one the water. It is also a day that I can do another thing I enjoy, COOKING, and eating MD Blue Crabs!!!
I never hear of people getting arrested for fireworks unless someone complains.

I'd be happy to send some of our rain your way. It's been raining here every day for i think 13-14 days. Not constant but it's rained for an hour everyday.
As for Whizzy's original post ill be going to a BBQ and my dad is a pyro so i'm sure he will have tons of fire works to light off.
