In peer to peer network can be used modem? how to use modem in it?

Peer to peer networks send data back and forth from IP address to IP address. As long as you get an IP address (which is done when you connect to a service provider aka ISP) then you can be in a p2p network. Whether you are on broadband, dialup, satellite or whatever as long as you have an electronic address which you must have to be on the internet you can be part of such a network.

I don't see what this has to do with web development however and probably a topic more suited for software development. So I will move that there.
