The computer is the heart of every programmer, right? So, i was just wondering what all the other comps here are like, and where mine stands compared to them. I already filled in my specs. The poll has 3 questions max, so feel free to elaborate.

Wow, I feel special then.
I sponsor a Core 2 Quad 2.83Ghz.
4 Gig DDR3 RAM
2 x RAID 5 arrays of SATA2 500GIG hard disks.
And if I had a camera I'd post the case (nice system, case with no sides or front fascia lol)

I disagree. A computer is merely a tool of the programmer, just as the language is.

Isn't the language the heart of a programmer.
No matter who you are, you'll always favour one language over another (depending on the situation)
The computer, no matter how slow it is, is still dumb. We give it the method to think and behave.
The computer still can not rival the complex thoughts and actions that a human does every second.
Just think of how many lines of code it would take for a computer to operate the fingers and forearms of the body that typed this post.

lol, I was looking at upgrading my system over a month ago, and was going to go more ram, but unfortunately the motherboard I've got only supports 1 gig modules. So I'm stuck with 4.
I'm still happy with her. I'd like better graphics cards, but oh well.

Anthalon, lol.
My main systems right now..
Laptop
Intel Celeron D ~2.8ghz
1 GiB ddr ram
Ati x600 Mobility PCI-E
Desktop
Intel Celeron D ~2.8 ghz
1 GiB ddr ram
Nvidia 6600 256 MiB AGP 8x
Desktop (headless)
Intel Pentium III Katai ~800mhz
368 MiB ram (I think?)
Nvidia 5200 FX 128 MiB ram AGP 8x
I'm looking into picking up a old iBook, just to play around with and kind of a "carry around" laptop. My main laptop right now is relatively powerful and has a few hours of battery life playing Far Cry (just an example, lasts longer near-idle), but it's big and heavy and it gets REALLY hot. Plus I wouldn't really be as upset if someone stole/broke a 100$ laptop (compared to losing a $800 laptop).
As long as I can install an OS on the computer that has
* SSH
* FTP
* Subversion
* Some kind of C compiler
I'm happy.
I enjoy the mobility provided by *nix systems. I can install a barebones Linux distro, install emacs and gcc/binutils, checkout my source tree from a repository, and start programming. In Debian I can usually do that with..
