That would highly depend on what type of computer you want. A laptop is portable, but a desktop is far more customizable. If you only need to use a computer when you are home, and don't need to take it with you wherever you go, a desktop computer would be best. However, if you travel a lot and need to take a computer with you, laptop would be the only choice. Personally, i choose desktop.

Even with the whole issue of having less power with a laptop then a desktop, there is something to be said about sitting at an airpot in a dingy corner tapping hopelessly away.

Looking over the top of the monitor and seeing security eye balling you from a distance talking on the radio.

For me, I like the laptop. With having an external hard-drive, you can pretty much do the same things on it as on a desktop.

You can turn a laptop into a desktop sort of, so I voted for Laptop.

The only thing I don't like about laptops is the limited expandability.

Laptops are good if you like to bring it while you watch tv, go outside, or to a hotel, while a desktop just sits there, but you can add more cd/dvd burners, usb drives, etc. You can do a lot with a desktop and a lot with a laptop.

I think that laptops are more popular, but desktops are more used. What I mean by this is that mostly everyone has a laptop but most of those people use a desktop instead of their laptop.

Well you can add peripherals to a laptop via USB. Grab a hub and you can hook up as many DVD burners as you want. :^:

I voted lappy. 1) It's faster than my desktop, 2) It's portable and 3) If I start developing apps on my computer, it's more of a hassle to get it onto my laptop which I use more anyway. ;)

I do need to start using the desktop though, I'm probably wearing out the laptop's keyboard. :)
