Please make a post on your opinion on Stroustrup's book after you've read it. I'd be very interested to hear your opinion on it as I've been considering buying it myself for some time. But, at £39.99 ($63.54), it's quite expensive and I wouldn't be able to get it on expenses at work because I don't use any C++ at my work!

The only person that can teach you "programming" is YOU, not a book, not a class. If you do not devote yourself to learning a programming language, then nobody or thing can teach you. If you do not have the willingness to learn, then you will give up because of errors, bugs etc... It takes time and PRACTICE, trial and error. Now, if you are devoted, then a good book and or class will help tremendously... This forum is a great place to see others code and play with, tons of resources on the net...

Anyway, Programming is hard to learn when you don't know PHP and have come straight from HTML, DHTML, CSS and jQuery.
