Text RPG Engine

Hey guys! I've seen this idea been shot around many a forum, so I decided to practice some OOP skills and see how far I can get with the development of a text RPG engine. My goal is to initially get all the code down and playable in a text environment and then a simple GUI to entice some more testing. It's currently being written in C++ (as of right now, its platform independent, but I may use the WinAPI for the GUI, we'll see).

Part of the idea is template/generic programming. This will allow mods so people can write in their own stories etc... At the moment I'm thinking this will be in the form of reading in text files for the most part. Thoughts, suggestions, criticisms, etc... will be greatly appreciated.

Try to keep it platform independent. :^: Does a text RPG game really need a GUI?

no, but i think it will attract more attention with one, plus console text just gets plain boring after a few minutes :)

You could always make it randomly change colors. Maybe throw in some random flashing to spice things up. :P
